THOUGHT FOR THE GAY. UH...DAY.

I was watching the Gay/Bi/Etc./Etc. Pride Parade on TV just now while the coffee warmed up, and my thoughts turned to the Rev. Fred Phelps, the crackpot homophobic media whore who likes to wave "God Hates Fags" signs at funerals, and as I watched a group of latino drag queens in prom gowns prance by, I thought, "When that old bastard dies, I hope to God his funeral procession looks EXACTLY like this."
I really, really do.

Let's take this one step further.

You are undoubtedly familiar with the poem -- Benet or Lindsey?? -- called "General William Booth Enters into Heaven." (The Salvation Army guy. All other info in the preceding is appoximate.)

Now when Fred enters into Hell, what can we expect? I hate to be vulgar but notice the similarity of rhythm and emphasis in the following phrases:

1) "Washed in the blood of the Lamb"

2) "Fucked in the ass by the band"

Didn't know a thing about it. Do now. Vachel Lindsay. Never heard of him/her either. Favorite part was the "tambourines to the foreground" direction for the grand final chorus. Can think of several ways tambourines could be employed in Fred's case. All unpleasant. Gotta go--have to hose off this lamb's blood.
